My objective with this piece was to create something entirely
sculptural, using nature- based forms. I wanted a single organic
and graceful shape. To achieve this nature based aesthetic,
I needed the shape of the frame to be in a state of continuous
change. A graceful unity would come from having the frame maintain
three dimensional curves, with an unbroken flow from any view.
The piece would also be about movement, and the feeling that
comes as the eye follows profile lines and interior edges that
define the shape, passing from tight to relaxed curves that
twist in their uninterrupted travel about the piece.
